Our History
In 1998, Rusty and Jay D. Johnson founded J.D. Johnson Waterproofing. Their company has utilized their experience in not only waterproofing, but also in-house structural foundation repair solutions. In order to keep expanding and providing quality services, J.D. Johnson Waterproofing partnered with Engineered Construction, LLC in late 2023 to better serve not only the smaller residential projects but also commercial projects in Northeast Ohio. In 2024, Engineered Construction, LLC unified the company name and logos to now act as d.b.a. Engineered Waterproofing.

Meet the Team
Jay Johnson
Jay Johnson is a graduate of Penn State University with degrees in architecture and architectural engineering. Jay has extensive hands-on and project management experience working in the areas of land development, excavation, poured foundations, concrete flatwork, and waterproofing and drainage mitigation. Jay leverages 30 years of experience in both his field and technical architectural engineering experience to solve the most complex basement foundation and water intrusion issues.
Steve Lazer
Steve Lazer is also a Penn State University graduate with a degree in architectural engineering. He has over 25 years of experience in the construction industry, working in project management, home building, and land development.
